The Wesley Woods Mother’s Day Offering provides charitable financial assistance, pastoral care, and wellness programming to older adults living in Wesley Woods communities.
Support is provided to residents in need of financial assistance to remain in their Wesley Woods homes. A robust wellness program includes fitness classes and on-site nurses to enhance the well-being of residents, enabling them to live independently longer. Wesley Woods chaplains provide ministry through personal visits, pastoral support, Bible study, and worship. *

Prayer Walk for the National Day of Prayer
What: Join the Prayer Force for a prayer walk of the McKendree grounds. This year's theme is, Glorify God Among the Nations -- Seeking Him in All Generations. We'll pray for families, the government, our military, the church, and anything else the Holy Spirit lays on our hearts.

Serve Dinner at Rainbow Village
When you serve at Rainbow Village, you’ll be the one blessed! This Duluth ministry serves families with children who are experiencing homelessness or who are imminently facing homelessness. Anyone age 16 and up is welcome to volunteer! We keep the number of onsite volunteers around 5-6 people. Make a difference for families experiencing homelessness. Help McKendree UMC prepare and serve dinner.

McKendree UMC is hosting a blood drive in the Fellowship Hall. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood. Donors of all blood types are needed to help avoid delays in life-saving medical care for patients.

2026 VBS - “True North” Trusting Jesus in a Wild World
VBS Registration is Open!
Look up into the "True North" to witness the Northern Lights and God's glowing majesty. Sign up for a week of love, laughter, lots of singing, and lots of Jesus this summer from June 8-11. Age requirements 4yrs (must be 4 by 9/1/26) through rising 6th grade. Cost is $30/child (maximum $90/family living at same address). Hours are 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Kids Musical - Tell Me the Truth
Make your way to the McKendree Sanctuary at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22nd for a wonderful musical event, immediately followed by ice cream, popcorn, & cotton candy in the Fellowship Hall.
It’s 1970, and time for the grooviest game show on television, “Tell Me the Truth”. Host Jane Cheese, and intrepid announcer Johnny Glibb guide our 3 contestants. Skip (a catch and release mosquito wrangler), Mildred (an amateur surgeon), and Adrian (a freelance astronaut), through what should be a simple array of Bible questions. The answers are surprising, and seemingly wrong, until the judges, and all of us, take a fresh look and discover the real meaning and message — Jesus!
A fundraiser offering to support the children's ministry will be taken during the intermission. If you like, you can give now.

Together, we can make a significant impact and help those in need within our community. Bring toiletries and/or non-perishable food items to the Fellowship Hall the morning of the food drive, or at any time, leave donations in the grocery cart outside the back of the church (under the covered entrance at the rear of the building).
Tuna is always in high demand and a great item to donate, along with other needed nonperishable foods and essential toiletries.

Fellowship: Anthony Canonica and his family are fairly new to McKendree. He has spent several years working as a Special Effects Makeup Artist in the entertainment world. Anthony will share with us, via photos and stories, some of his experiences working with names we know from Movies/TV, and more importantly how his craft creates the characters we all see on the large & small screens.
Food: Yes, there will be food!
Faith: We will end the evening with a brief faith-based message, and informal small group discussions.

Worship - Easter Celebrations
He has risen! He has risen indeed! Easter morning is a glorious day of worship celebrating the resurrection of Jesus and what it means for each of us. YOU are invited!
7:00 AM: Outdoor Sonrise service with Holy Communion (in case of rain, service will be moved to the Sanctuary). After the service, enjoy coffee and treats.
9:30 AM: Praise service led by the McKendree UMC Praise Band - we’ll sing Easter favorites together.
11:00 AM: Traditional service with music from the choir, orchestra and handbells. *The congregation is invited to join the choir on the chancel for the Hallelujah Chorus at the end of the service.
Got kids? There's Nursery (Room N114) and Kids Zone (Room N119) during the 9:30 service. At 11:00 AM worship, children begin in the sanctuary and go to Sunday School (Room 317) after the Time for Young Disciples. And of course, Nursery is in Room N114.

Stations of the Cross

In this prayerful journey, participants move from one station to the next, experiencing Jesus’ last hours with art, scripture, devotions and interactive elements. This year’s journey will reflect the passion story as told from the perspective of Peter. Each station reflects a moment in the gospel story from entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to Peter running to the tomb early on Easter morning.
