GREAT DAY OF SERVICE
It’s time to be the hands and feet of Jesus! On Great Day of Service, over one hundred McKendree UMC volunteers complete outreach projects for hundreds of people in need…all in one morning! We are hoping every McKendree member can be involved in some way. There are projects for all ages!

UNTANGLING FAITH - FALL 2025 WOMEN'S STUDY
WHAT: Have you ever felt you struggled to find your faith footing? We will join Amberly Neese to explore the questions Jesus asked as a way to reclaim that faith. Our class will discuss questions like, Can God Be Trusted? and How Can I Grow in Faith? Amberly’s unique humor and wit and our discussions will guide us to find our way through deep and rich issues of personal faith, doubt, and growth.

After the Contemporary Worship Service or Traditional Worship Service, head to the Fellowship Hall for Connect Sunday and discover God’s next step for you - how you can serve God and grow as a disciple with McKendree UMC. Learn more about ways to serve in the community, like the Kids Hope USA tutoring ministry at McKendree Elementary, Scouts, Lawrenceville Co-Op, and Great Day of Service. Find a small group where you can learn more about scripture and get to know other people. Make McKendree UMC a welcoming and nurturing environment by helping with Grief Share and Walk Through Bethlehem. Thrive as you use your gifts to serve with children, youth, Wednesday night meals, and music.

Please join us on July 26 for high tea from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fergusson's on the Square in Hoschton,GA. Because we will carpool from the church, let’s plan to meet at McKendree UMC at 10:15 AM.
High tea includes:

Daily homemade scones (the flavor varies from day to day)
Choice of soup or salad.

DISCIPLE One Bible Study
The DISCIPLE Bible study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. The study draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible reading and study of the participant, and dynamic group discussion to aid understanding of the Bible.

McKendree Women Connect - Painting Party
Women of McKendree, you are invited for an afternoon of painting fun at The Sketching Pad in Conyers, GA. We will carpool after church on June 29 and enjoy lunch while we paint pottery or canvases.
What do you want to paint?
Pottery options can be chosen at the studio.
But, if you think you want to paint a canvas, please make your selection. Your canvas will be pre-sketched when you arrive.

Worship - VBS Sunday and Deep Blue Bash
VBS WORSHIP (ONESERVICE at 11:00 AM) & LUNCH PARTY at 12:00 PM
The VBS fun continues! Come celebrate day 5 of VBS with one service of worship, followed by lunch and fun!
Lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall directly after the service, and we will continue the party out in our back parking lot. Prepare to get wet as we will have a foam bubble cannon (water shoes are recommended)! We plan to make it a Deep Blue Sea adventure for everyone.
We need our church to show up and show out to welcome VBS families and show what fertile ground McKendree is. We will also need some folks to help set up, clean up, and for hospitality. Please let Sarah How know if you are available.

VBS is for kids ages rising PreK (4yrs) through 6th grade. Each day builds on a simple phrase that reinforces a Bible lesson and includes music, games, snacks, and much more. Learn more.

VBS Decorating Day!
Everyone can serve on Sunday, June 8th, after the 11:00 AM worship service on VBS Decorating Day. Dive into the sea to explore God's loving creation by offering a helping hand in transforming our church into "The Deep Blue Sea". VBS is our largest community outreach project of the year, and we need all hands on deck.

June 8th is Pentecost Sunday. Wear your flame colors and celebrate the birth of the church during the 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM Worship Services!
Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples after His Ascension, it is held on the seventh Sunday after Easter. In honor of this, it is tradition to wear flame colors to church to signify the presence of the Holy Spirit in our community and our unity in Christ. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.
