Wellroot Family Dinner
In our commitment to community service and support, McKendree UMC is excited to partner with Wellroot Family Services (formerly United Methodist Children's Home) for a special event. On February 27th, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., we will host a Parent Support Group for the Healthy Families North Georgia program. This initiative offers invaluable parenting support to families with young children, and we have the opportunity to provide a welcoming environment for these families to gather. Learn more about WELLROOT Here.
We invite you to be a part of this meaningful event by volunteering your time and talents. We need help with setting up, preparing and serving food, and providing childcare. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to contribute to making this gathering a success, please reach out to the church office. Your involvement will make a significant difference in the lives of the families we are serving. Childcare will be provided.

Rise Against Hunger
On February 22nd McKendree UMC is participating in Rise Against Hunger, the meal packaging event everyone loves! This is a fun and easy mission project that all ages can enjoy.
The first step of this exciting event is to raise money to purchase the meals. Each package is around $0.40 per meal. The amount we raise will determine how many meals we can provide.
Encourage others to give and show that you have donated and are sponsoring meals* - head over to the Narthex to the Rise Against Hunger Station to fill out a card. It will be added to our display. All contributions are appreciated! *You can donate here or use the QR code at the table.
The second step of this exciting event is to volunteer and join in packaging meals on February 22nd. Please let us know that you will be here.

UMCOR Service Opportunity - MISSION HUB WORKDAY
North Georgia Conference is creating a new Mission Hub on the office campus at the corner of Old Peachtree and South Scales Road. This hub includes a mini UMCOR warehouse where UMCOR buckets and kits can be dropped off and verified, before transporting to the East Point warehouse for palletization. To get this ready for operations, we need all hands on deck on Saturday, February 1st, to clear and clean up this space. Work will include: clear out all storage areas, remove furniture, wipe down tables and chairs, sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, etc. Everyone is invited to participate. Please bring work or cleaning gloves if available.
Work will start at 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided. Sign up is not required but will help us plan for lunch in advance. The more the merrier - Hope to see you there!
Also, this building was previously used for youth and children ministry. There are furniture, toys and games that can be donated to other non-profits. If you have a ministry or organization that may use some of these items, please come early to claim them before they go into the dumpster.
