Women’s Connect invites all women of McKendree to join us!

WHO: Women of McKendree - Bring a friend, sister, daughter.

WHAT: This month our meeting features Grace Tillman, Senior Corporate Counsel with Oberman Law Firm. Grace will guide us through “All Things Legal” in a friendly, easy‑to‑understand way. She will be offering general legal information (not personal legal advice), and we invite the ladies to submit questions ahead of time so she can prepare.

Grace can speak on topics such as:

- Employment & workplace basics (ADA, FMLA, age discrimination, HR issues)

- Contracts & agreements (what to look for, how they work)

- Real estate basics (client vs. customer, disclosures, landlord/tenant rights)

- Health care regulations (HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, compliance)

- General legal processes (how laws work, what people should know)

Grace cannot provide personal legal advice, review individual documents, or discuss criminal matters, but she is happy to help us understand the laws that affect everyday life.

Together we serve our neighbors. There’s a project for every age and skill level.

It’s time to be the hands and feet of Jesus! Great Day of Service is a time to serve our community and our church. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 AM, we will have a brief worship service at 9:30 AM and then disperse to work on numerous projects in the church and in the community. There are projects for ALL ages!  

Who: All are invited to serve!

When/Where: Sunday, October 18 at McKendree UMC

• 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM - Breakfast in the Narthex

• 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM - Worship Service

• 10:00 AM - Noon* - GDOS Projects

  *Most projects will be completed by noon unless otherwise stated.

Why: To be the hands and feet of Jesus!

• Another way to help for Great Day of Service is to purchase some of these items for our projects.

  • Bath Size Soap – 3.2 oz or larger (No Jergens or Ivory please – it melts)

  • Socks (Crew or Knee-High – One Size, L, M)

  • Sandwich Crackers (Cheese, Peanut Butter)

  • Packaged Snacks & Goodies (nutrition/fruit & nut bars, chips, goldfish, trail mix, etc…)

  • Fresh-Baked Goodies for Heroes (W-Th Oct 14-15 at the earliest – or bring GDOS Sunday)

McKendree UMC is hosting a blood drive in the Fellowship Hall. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood. Donors of all blood types are needed to help avoid delays in life-saving medical care for patients. Get a $15 e-gift card when you come to give blood!

Schedule to Give Blood

What: A time for men to gather via Zoom to pray for our families, church, community and nation, as well as, ourselves. We'll generally gather for a couple of minutes, begin lifting up topics of prayer & praise, then wrap up after 15 to 20 minutes.

Why: 1 Timothy 2:8 - Men of God Pray!

When: Every Tuesday at 7:00 AM to 7:15 AM/7:20 AM

Come to worship with the joy of a child, for the Children's Sabbath on October 25th at 11:00 AM. Come and support the children as they lead with your presence and praise as they make a joyful noise unto the Lord! You won't want to miss our child led service!! These kids have been working so hard to sing with The Way praise band, read scripture, and be in charge.  

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."

It is that time again! Trunk or Treat in the McKendree UMC parking lot on October 31, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Everyone, come and have fun!

CHURCH MEMBERS! Sign up to host a trunk! This ministry event expects to serve around 800 people.

You can start setting up at 1:00 PM. Also, let us know if you will need electricity. If you have any questions, please contact info@mckendreeumc.org.
