Our Curriculum
The curriculum at McKendree is guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Developmental Standards.
We prioritize forming strong connections with our children.
By focusing on their needs and
stages of growth, we spend time observing and understanding them to engage with them effectively. With insights into
child development and key learning areas, we ensure that each child can access learning materials in a way that makes sense and is valuable to them.
But what does play based mean?
At McKendree, we believe that play is crucial for children's growth. Renowned experts like Jean Piaget and Fred Rogers emphasize that play is not just a break from learning; it is an essential part of it. Our role as teachers is to provide a strong foundation for our children through engaging and enjoyable learning experiences. We use hands-on activities, group work, and individual play to help children develop important emotional, social, physical, intellectual, and spiritual skills for life.
