Our Curriculum

The curriculum at McKendree is guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Developmental Standards

Our curriculum is guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), which support growth across all areas of early childhood development. Teachers use these standards, together with regular observation, to understand each child’s individual strengths, needs, interests, and progress. This helps us plan age-appropriate experiences, choose suitable materials, and provide the right level of support for every child.

But what does play based mean?

At McKendree, we believe children learn best through play. Each day, children are encouraged to explore, create, ask questions, solve problems, and learn alongside their friends. Through hands-on activities, imaginative play, group experiences, and independent discovery, children develop curiosity, confidence, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
