When you serve at Rainbow Village, you’ll be the one blessed! This Duluth ministry serves families with children who are experiencing homelessness or who are imminently facing homelessness.
You can make a difference in the following ways:
Meal preparation. Arrive around 4:00 PM to start cooking, warming, slicing, and dicing. We are always looking for cooks!
Arrive for setup at 5:30 PM. Serve food at 6:00 PM and finish the cleanup by 7:30 PM.
Dish food onto plates and serve from the kitchen counter (on occasion, we take the plates to the 3-5 year-olds to their tables; everyone else picks up their plates at the counter).
Man the drink counter, pour beverages, and hand out water bottles.
Clean up - the dishes and kitchen area and take out the trash (we try to multitask... while some serve, others retrieve dirty dishes and start the cleanup. We finish by wiping down the dining tables and vacuuming the dining room.
WHO: Anyone age 16 and up is welcome to volunteer! We keep the number of onsite volunteers around 5-6 people.
