Volunteers Needed!

Did you know that every summer McKendree hosts a day camp for the FOCUS organization? Children participating in FOCUS activities range in age from birth through 29 years old and have many types of physical and/or developmental disabilities, including rare genetic syndromes, cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome.

This year, "Camp Hollywood" will be at McKendree UMC from June 3-7, and they are in need of volunteers!

Volunteers must be 14+ years old, and anyone 18+ years old must be able to complete a background check at no cost to the individual. Volunteers serve as support and encouragement for our campers as they learn, grow, and push themselves to try new and exciting things. Volunteers encourage campers in activities and help group leaders make sure that campers are safe and having fun. We at FOCUS consider our volunteers to be essential to the success of Camp Hollywood, and they just take just as much away from the experience as our campers do!
