Welcome to McKendree United Methodist Church
Welcome to McKendree United Methodist Church, where every single person matters, period. We invite people from all walks of life and hope they feel welcomed. We trust that when we worship together, serve together, pray together, eat together, and do life together that God is present. That changes everything!
Acolytes remind us that the light of Christ is present when we gather.

THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU
You don’t need to be a member of the church to be part of cookouts, small groups, Wednesday meals or any other events. Consider this your official invitation and check out some of the ways you can grow and serve with McKendree UMC.
Food has a way of bringing people together. Sharing a meal or cooking for someone is one of the simplest ways to show care. But for many families, food can also be a source of stress. More than one in three people around the world experience food insecurity, and that reality exists right here in our own community, too.
Help McKendree Kids & Students support local families this Thanksgiving by donating food items to fill the Thanksgiving Meal Bags they are putting together during their Wednesday Night Programming.
Each Thanksgiving Bag will have:
• 1 Easy mac and cheese
• 1 Canned microwavable pasta
• 1 Canned microwavable soup
• 3 Breakfast items (granola bar, fruit bar, Pop-Tart, or small cereal)
• 3 Snacks (individually wrapped chips, crackers, or fruit snacks)
Drop off in the box labeled "Thanksgiving Bags" in the Narthex.
Bids for Kids is an online auction with 100’s of items that support our Preschool. Browse through our activities and experiences, services, merchandise, food vendors and class baskets to find that perfect Christmas gift or bid on a treat for yourself.
The proceeds collected help provide scholarships for families who are experiencing financial need. It is also a major source of funding for the special needs program S.P.R.O.U.T. Using proceeds from last year’s auction, the Preschool created two rooms for resources and sensory play, where therapists and teachers are able to come in and work with children in small groups or one on one.
The auction will go live at 12:01 AM on Friday, November 7th.

Come experience what it was like in Bethlehem the night Jesus was born! Market stalls, shepherds and live animals, and the story of Jesus’ birth. This is what Christmas is truly all about! Everyone is Welcome! Open to the public from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Christmas Cantata at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM worship services.
A joyful musical celebration of Jesus birth at both worship services. Come at the time, 9:30 AM or 11:00 AM, that best fits your schedule.
This year, our cantata celebrates the theme “The Promise”, a recognition of the joy that the coming of our Savior brings. Our troubled world compels us to live from a place of fear. But this Advent, we recognize the joy, hope, and peace that Christ’s coming brings. We place our worldly worries at the foot of the infant Christ’s cradle, and center ourselves in the faith of the promised salvation that His arrival brings.
Through powerful readings and music, we journey from the quiet hope of Bethlehem to the triumphant proclamation of God’s glory revealed to all flesh. The cantata invites us to trust in the promise fulfilled—a child named Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace—whose light shines in the shadows of our lives and whose joy transforms the world.
This sacred offering reflects on God’s faithfulness and reminds us that Christ’s joy is for all people, in all times and places. Through music and word, we are invited to witness again the wonder of a child born to bring peace and hope to the world. Let this cantata be a moment to pause, to reflect, and to celebrate the profound truth: “Joy to the world, the Lord is come!”
